Live-in (24 Hour) Care

Live-in Care ServicesWhen you or a loved one need increased level of care, you still have the option to remain at home. You might be the daughter or son who has been helping mom or dad and things have just reached a point where you need a little help yourself. 24 hour home care means that a caregiver is available when needed, but that your loved one has the personal space and autonomy as if they were living alone.

Live-In Care Services

Live-In Home Care is an option for families who need more around the clock care. There are no additional charges for room and board for live-in care, but the cost of meals (or a meal stipend) are usually provided by the family or the selected caregiver can simply cook the meals for the client and dine alongside the family. Many caregivers have a driver’s license and own their own car to accompany your loved one to appointments and go groceries shopping. If you prefer, a caregiver can drive your car or theirs.

Wings of Eagles Care Solutions prides itself on its reputation as a premiere non-medical in-home care referral service. When considering the live-in care option, our clients are usually unaware how broad of services a non-medical caregiver can provide. It is typical for clients who are researching live-in care options to think they need a live-in nurse when most of the senior assistance needed is likely non-medical. These duties usually fall within the realm of a personal care assistant, tending to a senior’s homemaking, and companionship needs. Clients should consider having a non-medical caregiver / personal care aide scheduled for the basic activities of daily living versus having a higher priced live-in nurse present during the entire day.

Overnight Care

Overnight care is also an option with our caregiver. This service involves a caregiver assisting with a few hours of care before bed and after a good night’s rest. If you are assisting a loved one, you know that your health can be affected without a good nights rest. Caregivers usually request that they receive at least 8 hours of sleep, but they are there to assist you during the night if your loved one is unable to sleep or needs to use the restroom. Having a caregiver in the home as your loved one sleeps gives peace of mind and security while you rest, enabling you to wake up fresh to go about your day.

Why Live-In or Overnight Care?

Providing your loved ones with around-the-clock non-medical home care can also be a preventative way to avoid a nursing home. In fact, two of the biggest reasons older adults transition to Assisted Living Facilities are a result of medication prompts and fall risk concerns. Around-the-clock care for the elderly is very possible at your own home and having access to live-in help or a referred overnight caregiver can reduce the factors that might lead to a nursing home admission.
